As the day winds down, gather your loved ones to witness breathtaking sunsets over three iconic islands—North Fox, South Fox, and North Manitou. It’s the kind of beauty that makes every evening magical. For those with a spirit of adventure, Leelanau State Park is just a short walk away from the end of this private drive. This stretch of shoreline is known for the mystical beauty you’ll experience as you hike along Lake Michigan’s edge. Prefer the water? Launch your kayak or favorite watercraft and set out across the crystal-clear waters of Cathead Bay. Your journey to this hidden gem begins when you turn off N Lighthouse Road onto the peaceful N Cathead Bay Drive. Along the way, you’ll pass the protected lands of the Leelanau Conservancy’s Lighthouse West Natural Area, perfect for hiking and immersing yourself in nature. Just beyond, you’ll find the cottage, nestled along one of the most breathtaking shorelines Lake Michigan has to offer. Note: the cottage is not "winterized." The cottage was only used during the warm months and was never intended to be occupied in a Michigan Winter.
